Shereen Dawoud has over 17 years of experience across a multitude of practice areas and industries including civil, business, and commercial law, mergers & acquisitions, banking and finance, energy, intellectual property, technology, media & telecommunications, employment, tax, construction and real estate, oil and gas, and hospitality and tourism.
For 8 years, Shereen was actively involved in multi-billion dollar litigations, arbitrations and alternative dispute resolutions at Hafez Avocat, recognized by the Legal 500 as “the leading practice in arbitration across the Middle East”. She advised on ad-hoc proceedings and on most major arbitration rules including the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris (ICC), the London Court of Arbitration (LCIA), the Dubai International Arbitration Centre (DIAC), and the Cairo Regional Centre for International Commercial Arbitration (CRCICA). She was widely regarded by the firm’s clients as one of the top strategists in dispute avoidance.
Shereen’s prior experience includes heading the legal and departmental affairs arm of the private Nile FM and Nogoum FM radio stations where she amassed a wealth of expertise in the media and advertisements industry.
Her tenure as Head of Legal at Egypt Call S.A.E. had her successfully closing a host of negotiations, deals, and due diligence proceedings with Orascom Telecom Holding as part of the biggest deal closures of second tier telecom companies in value-added services.
More recently, Shereen acted as part of the legal team lobbying on behalf of the billion dollar ride-sharing company Careem to the Egyptian government in order to issue and implement regulations for operations in Egypt.
